General Questions
Does PROJECTminder manage disbursements and expenses?
Yes - there is a disbursements approval screen that allows administration users to manage disbursements and expenses from mileage to fees from external consultants. In the invoice rules section of a project you can specify how these are to be treated per project. Easy to use reports allow you to see how much to reimburse your team.
We pay overtime - is this covered in the system?
Yes it is. You can have different rates of overtime and if you do not pay it that is fine too.
Can I export reports to spreadsheets?
Yes - our reporting engine supports Excel, XML, PDF and CSV exports.
Can there be more than two administrators and, if so, will this impact any phone support costs?
We support two administrators by phone because it is important for us to have two main contacts in the company. It is fine for us to take calls from another administrator as long as they are trained and we are notified of their name.
How do we get copies of our backed up data, as the software is hosted?
You have the facility to download reports at any time - this allows you to keep weekly backups in addition to our twice daily backups. Project plans can also be exported to Microsoft Project.
What other software or licences do I need to buy?
None - all you need on your local machine is the most recent version of Internet Explorer, which is free from Microsoft, or Firefox. If you were considering a client-server solution you may have to pay for additional licences, updates, hardware and support. With each product you pay one fee per month that includes ALL updates and support.
Can you integrate PROJECTminder with my accounts?
In most cases we can. The software to which we can currently connect is Sage Line 50 and Access Accounts (this can require an additional import module from Access). If your software is not listed please give us a call to discuss integration. Our connection solution is very flexible and can work in conjunction with almost any system.
We are a small business - this sounds like a big business system!
The benefits are different depending on the size of the company. A small company of six may have almost the same overhead on fixed costs as a company of fifteen, which means you have to work that much harder. When the fees are smaller so are the margins, so managing profitability becomes even more important.
Other benefits for smaller companies are in the client perception. By managing their fees it gives them more confidence, and as the business expands a solid bedrock for growth has already been established and systems put in place.
