Managing projects with information that is four to six weeks out of date will distort the view of where you are within a project.
We often find that the reports being used to manage projects are simply a total cost against a total fee. This can result in the information being viewed out of context, as there is no reference to the stage of the job or the percentage complete.
Engineers are visual people. Wherever possible we use graphs to display data and trends in projects. This allows you to view a snapshot of a project so you can very quickly understand what action to take.
Most of the reports start with a top-level summary with the facility to look deeper into the data to identify how or why a particular situation has occurred.
